Realise efficiency potentials now when using CAE software in electrical design

The European 4.0 Transformation Center (E4TC) at RWTH Aachen Campus has investigated the strategic digitalisation of the design and control engineering of machines and plants. The research report is based on an eight-month field survey of German machine and plant manufacturers in series and special machine construction, engineering offices / hardware planners and equipment manufacturers.

The methodology developed allows for the first time a well-founded reflection on current engineering workflows in series and special machine construction. The central finding is that those who partially automate their engineering achieve the economically optimal ratio of effort and benefit.
